SUPERMAN VS. BATMAN Adds Three More Actors

The ever-crowded cast of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel 2 (or Superman Vs. Batman or whatever it ends up being called) just added three fairly high profile names to the list. Well, at least one of them is high profile;  According to Deadline, Holly Hunter, 300: Rise Of An Empire‘s Callan Mulvey, and The Wolverine‘s Tao Okamoto have all signed on for roles that are said to be entirely new ones not derived from the comic books.

The addition of Holly Hunter to any cast is a thing to be excited about. She’s usually amazing in anything she’s in, so I’m gonna go ahead and put this in the “yay” column. I’d say the jury is still out on the other two. And regardless of what the report says, I’m not entirely buying that all three are brand new characters either; I have a gut feeling this could be a smokescreen. All three actors join an already fairly crowded cast that includes Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, and Jesse Eisenberg. The as-yet untitled DC Universe team-up movie is scheduled for May, 2016.

At this rate each actor will get five minutes appearance in this movie.

  2. cindy says:

Hmmm… could a Batman and the Outsiders movie happen?

  3. Phillip says:

I hope they don’t make it a batman vs. superman movie. Superman’s always the pro-government nationalist patriot “take-away-their-freedoms-for-their-own-good” kind of guy and Batman’s always the for-the-people, overthrow-oppresive-governments kind of guy in Batman vs. Superman stories. And Batman always wins. I don’t think that’s the kind of movie they want to make right now because it makes Superman look sort of like a simpleminded tool…

I think we should expect to see more of a team-up than a vs. situation.

  4. Joseph Knight says:

When I saw Tao Okamoto, I was hoping that she would play Lana Lang, maybe working for Luthor, like in TAS.

  5. Madi says:

Marvel has movies lined up until 2021, and DC can’t get ONE movie off the ground. And what’s with the casting? Young superman, old batman, young Lex. Wha? They’ve already lost the battle to Marvel. Might as well give up. I’ve been a DC fan forever. Batman is the guy! But, after a string of loser movies and the “new 52” I am so close to calling it quits. I curse DC every time I get excited about a new Marvel movie. They’ve got what it takes to make it in the movie industry, at the very least. When is DC going to learn?

  6. Lars says:

I’ve been burned by DC/WB så many times now, that I can’t muster any excitement for this project. I MIGHT watch it in the cinema, but probably not. Fool me once, DC!
