Supercut Celebrates the Women of ARROW

This week, Arrow: The Complete Third Season hits Blu-ray and DVD. And while the popular series focuses on Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and his quest for justice as the Arrow, he’s far from the only hero on the series.

Arrow has a very strong lineup of female characters, including three heroines on Team Arrow itself. The CW has released a supercut from the third season that puts the spotlight on the Women of Arrow — they kicked so much ass last season.

Topping the lineup is Emily Bett Rickards’ Felicity Smoak, a character who had only a minor presence in DC’s comic book universe before Arrow. Because a sizeable group of Arrow fans immediately responded to Rickards’ performance, Felicity has transitioned from a supporting player to the female lead of Arrow. Not only did Felicity win Oliver’s heart, but she’s also the top hacker in The CW’s DC universe.

Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) was the female lead of Arrow, but fans seemed to prefer her sister, Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) a.k.a. the Canary. Arrow season three was a redemption tour for Laurel, as she embraced the path of a vigilante to avenge her fallen sister and she trained to become Black Canary, one of the newest members of Team Arrow.

Thea Queen (Willa Holland) is Oliver’s sister, an invention of the show. As the daughter of Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), Thea received an accelerated training regimen between Arrow seasons two and three that finally gave her a more physical role in the show. And it’s gone well for Thea, aside from the time that she murdered Sara Lance and that other time when Thea died at the hands of Ra’s al Ghul. Still…progress!

The other two women highlighted in the new Arrow supercut are DC heroine Katana a.k.a Tatsu Yamashiro (Rila Fukushima) and Nyssa al Ghul (Katrina Law), the daughter of Ra’s al Ghul.

Arrow fans, who is your favorite female character on the show? Take aim and deliver judgment in the comment section below. And also be sure to check out our exclusive videos from Arrow season three and The Flash Season 1 on Blu-ray.
