The reception of the Suicide Squad movie may have been mixed, but one thing that can be said without a doubt is that things seemed to have been pretty nuts on set. Jared Leto, in character as The Joker for the entirety of the shoot, infamously sent items like anal beads and used condoms to his castmates, he gave Margot Robbie a live rat, and I’m sure there are more hijinks we have yet to hear about.
To a lesser degree, Will Smith took a liking to pouring hot water on his costars during cold shooting days in Canada. Then there was Jai Courtney, who played George “Digger” Harkness/Captain Boomerang, who was more into being naked.
Courtney was a guest on a recent episode of Conan, and he told O’Brien about a fateful visit director David Ayer paid to his trailer: “He would kind of just rock up uninvited, and he came into my trailer one day, and I mustn’t have had any clothes on […] I’m sure there was a logical reason for being in the buff. […] He comes in, and look, I’m an impulsive dude, so I just kind of went after him, and Jay Hernandez, who plays [El] Diablo in the movie, I could hear behind me saying, ‘Sick ’em, boy.'”
Thankfully, an unidentified cast member managed to snap a tasteful visual representation of the event, and it’s definitely a photo for the fridge:
Courtney appears to be in great shape, comfortable with his body, and in possession of a stellar running form, so power to him.
