SUICIDE SQUAD Goes International in New TV Spot

This past Tuesday, DC and Warner Brothers released their second trailer for the upcoming Suicide Squad (You can check out our breakdown of it below). They have also released their first international TV spot, which you can view above.

While the spot shows a lot of the same footage as the trailer, there are two things to note: The first is that Warner Brothers wants Queen to be the official band of the Suicide Squad, as Bohemian Rhapsody is blasting through all 15 seconds. The second is that the Joker is front and center at the opening of the spot. Based on shots of the team so far, it’s clear that he is NOT a member. The only things we really know is that his story seems to revolve around Harley Quinn (surprise, surprise) and that at one point in the movie he’s being chased down by Batman (Ben Affleck).

No matter what the Joker’s role is, I am looking forward to seeing what Jared Leto is bringing to the character. He has some heavy-big clown shoes to fill from Heath Ledger. Then again, people said the same thing when comparing Ledger to Jack Nicholson. Here’s hoping history can repeat itself.

Suicide Squad, also starring Will Smith and Margot Robbie, opens in theaters and IMAX August 5.

So what do you think? Are you excited about Suicide Squad? Will it be the Guardians of the Galaxy of 2016? Let me know on Twitter or tattoo an adjective describing yourself on your forehead in the comments below.
