Suicide Squad was one of the most hotly anticipated DC films of the year. Long before it came out, we were privy to photos of the DCEU’s version of fan favorites like Harley Quinn and The Joker. But when the film actually hit theaters, we all came back with some…mixed reviews. Some people loved it, but there were several fans that felt like the movie didn’t live up to expectations. Regardless of what you thought, I think we all can agree that nobody knows how to take our favorite films to task better and more hilariously than the evil geniuses at Screen Junkies who bring us Honest Trailers, and their take on Suicide Squad is nothing short of perfect.
The trailer talks about the well-publicized, troubling journey that the film had making its way to movie theaters, it’s derivative, uninspired storytelling, as well as the anti-climatic amounts of the Joker in the film…and that weird purring thing he kept doing.
Of course there is a glut of superhero movies in theaters these days, so it’s tough to stand out from the VERY crowded pack. So Suicide Squad had some tough shoes to fill starting out. Still, you’ve got to think that not making so many cuts of a film, making sure to utilize all of the talent in your cast, and, you know, NOT mailing your co-stars used condoms makes for a more solid film.
