STREET FIGHTER V Reveals New Character Rashid

While at the Games15 gaming show in Dubai, Capcom not only offered a hands-on look at Street Fighter V on the Playstation 4, but Yoshinori Ono was on hand to introduce a new character to attendees named Rashid. Well, technically he is Rashid of The Turbulent Wind, and you better remember it well. The second all-new character to be added to the latest game in the franchise, Rashid is a fighter that boasts some awesome wind-based attacks and quite the flashy, foot-based fighting style. He seems to practice some sort of over-the-top Taekwondo style, and he even has the ability to roll under Ryu’s Hadokens. Nothing makes an impression at the start of a fight like doing a barrel-roll, backflip kicks, and still not losing your Keffiyeh.

Street Fighter V looks to be shaping up for some major changes after its triumphant return with Street Fighter IV. Rashid marks the second of four brand new characters being added into the game, along with the Blanca-replacement known as Necalli. Before the reveal, a rumor began circulating about the three yet-unrevealed new characters, and it named Rashid as one of them. Now with his reveal, it lends a little more credibility to the claim that Capcom would be including Brazilian and Indian fighters, named Laura and Zen respectively, as the last two new characters.

With feet of fury and tiny tornadoes that he can launch at his opponents, Rashid looks to be a force to be reckoned with when Street Fighter V launches as a Playstation 4 exclusive sometime next year. Who are you most looking forward to playing as when the game releases? Let us know in the comments below.
