STREET FIGHTER: ASSASSIN’S FIST Gets An Official Release Date

Machinima has just released its first full length trailer for Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist, the coming of age story of Street Fighters titular heroes, Ryu and Ken, and it’s packed with a lot of punch (pun intended).

In the duo’s pursuit of becoming the Ansatsuken Master, we are shown the backstory of not only the brothers, but some of Street Fighter‘s most iconic characters and how the past, present, and future of all of those characters are intertwined.

Take a look at the fisticuff-full trailer below that hints how becoming Ansatsuke Master will threaten to tear brothers apart:

From the looks of it, history may very well repeat itself, but the question remains, which brother will follow the dark path of Akuma? The live-action series is the brainchild of Joey Ansah (The Bourne Ultimatum, Snow White and the Huntsman). Ansah, who also stars in the series (Akuma), wrote the script with Christian Howard, who reprises his role as Ken Masters from the original fan film. The series also stars Mike Moh as Ryu, Togo Igawa (47 Ronin, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Last Samurai) as Gōtetsu, Akira Koieyama as Gōken, Gaku Space as Gōki, Mark Killeen (300: Rise of an Empire, The Dark Knight Rises) as Mr. Masters, and Hal Yamanouchi as Senzo.

Prep your eyes for May 23: Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist will officially debut in its entirety (12 episodes) on YouTube.
