Stream Beck’s New Album ‘Morning Phase’ Now

Yes. Finally. Beck’s 12th studio album, Morning Phase, his first since 2008’s Modern Guilt is now streaming courtesy of our friends at NPR. A collection of rich, placid songs, texturally akin to 2002’s Sea Change, Morning Phase offers the intimate version of Beck we so seldom get to hear. From the sprawling torrents of strings (arranged by his father, David Campbell) to the pin-sharp finger picking, Beck’s new LP is the kind of album that makes you want to wake up early enough to see the sunrise from a proper vantage point. It is a certain kind of pretty, the kind that makes you remember something  about yourself that you didn’t know you’d forgotten. Don’t sleep on this album; it is worth a few listens at least.
