STRANGER THINGS’ Millie Bobby Brown Auditioned For X-23 in LOGAN

It’s been a few months now since Logan hit theaters, but now that we’ve had some time to really sit and think about it…we can all still agree it’s still one of the best damn super hero movies ever made. And one of the reasons it was so incredibly kick ass was the character of Laura, a.k.a. Logan’s daughter, X-23, as played by newcomer Dafne Keen. But it turns out another equally bad ass young lady also auditioned for the role of Laura — Millie Bobby Brown, the actress best known for playing the telekinetic powerhouse named Eleven of Stranger Things.

Brown talked about how she prepared to audition for the part of Laura Kinney in front of Hugh Jackman and Logan director James Mangold during in an interview with Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood as part of Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series. In the interview, she said the following:

“I was like, ‘It’s going to be amazing, I’m going to really prepare,’ and I sat in my room reading the lines. Honestly, for me, I felt so — I felt like an actor, in the audition room, hitting Hugh Jackman, and James Mangold sitting right in front of me. It was one of the best auditions.”

Although she ultimately didn’t get the part, she has nothing but high praise for Dafne Keen. You can watch the interview down below:

Ultimately, I’d bet money that Keen got the role over Brown mainly due to “family resemblance,” so to speak. X-23 isn’t just supposed to be Wolverine’s “daughter,” but is actually Wolverine’s genetic clone, merely with the Y chromosome removed. And Keen definitely looks like she could be part of the Jackman family, probably a bit more than Millie Bobby Brown. But fans shouldn’t fret too much, as I’m sure season two of Stranger Things will give Eleven some X-23 levels of kicking ass.

What do you think of Millie Bobby Brown almost getting the chance to play X-23? Would it have improved the film for you, or is it perfect as it is? Let us know your thoughts down below in the comments.
