Watch Millie Bobby Brown Shave Her Head for STRANGER THINGS

If you look up “fierce” in the dictionary, you may very well find a picture of Eleven from Stranger Things, brow furrowed and eyes filled with determination and anger. Millie Bobby Brown’s character from the Netflix series is memorable because of her skills, resilience, Brown’s portrayal, and her look—particularly her shaved head. Brown committed to being Eleven and had her shoulder-length hair chopped off for the role and Vulture tipped us off to a video showing the transformation.

Brown shared it on Twitter and it’s set to the peppy “Pretty Hurts” by Beyoncé:

It’s a big move to let go of that much hair at once. I wouldn’t deal with it well, but 12-year-old Brown appears relatively calm. Stranger Things creators the Duffer brothers told Brown about the necessary hair change in their first face-to-face meeting. Brown was understandably hesitant, and so were her parents, but the Duffer brothers convinced them. They told Entertainment Weekly, “Fortunately, Mad Max: Fury Road was about to come out, so we pulled out a magazine photograph of Charlize Theron as Furiosa and showed it to Millie. ‘Charlize looks totally badass, right?’ Millie agreed; Charlize looked badass. And that was it: She agreed to buzz it all off.”

The whole process was complete within 10 minutes. I don’t know if it’s better or worse that it went so quickly. Put yourself in Brown’s shoes and tell me: Would you shave your head or insist on some kind bald cap/wig situation? Talk to me in the comments.
