STRANGER THINGS’ Upside Down Comes to Life in a Creepy Halloween Maze

Every fall Universal Studios pays homage to the spookiest time of the year by bringing to life our favorite scary stories from film and television with their annual Halloween Horror Nights, and this year they’re celebrating by turning their parks upside down–literally. They’re going to let fans experience what it’s like to wander through the terrifying world of Hawkins, Indiana from Stranger Things, and based on the first look at the attraction the only thing missing is an actual Demogorgon.

The first images of Universal’s maze based on the hit Netflix series feature some of the most recognizable locales from the show’s first season, including the Byers family living room with Christmas lights, Will’s shack, the Hawkins National Laboratory, the boys’ school, and more. They are all connected by the creepy, slimy portals to the Upside Down, and attendees should expect monsters jumping out of them as they make their way through. (Remember: DO NOT be fooled by any baby Demo-Dogs! They will grow up and eat you and your cat!)

“Journey to small town Hawkins, Indiana—a seemingly peaceful community with dark, unnerving secrets. When a young boy goes missing near a secluded government laboratory, his faithful friends begin a quest unfolding a series of increasingly bizarre and frightening events. With the threat of flesh-eating creatures in the shadows and the help of one very strange little girl, their world is about to be turned “Upside Down”!”

The Stranger Things attraction will open on September 14 at Universal Studios’ Hollywood and Orlando locations, and September 28 in Singapore, but check the schedule before going because it is only open on select nights. Some of the other Halloween Horror Nights properties this year include Poltergeist, The First Purge, Halloween 4, and Universal Monsters, and tickets to all of them can be purchased through Universal’s website. For those of you brave enough to enter the Upside Down do us a favor and keep an eye out for Barb. You know, just in case.
