Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel Parody Kanye’s “Famous” Video

Kanye took provocation to another level in his latest, still-evolving opus, The Life of Pablo. Dealing with fame—especially his own—was a common motif throughout the record, and that theme’s titular ode, “Famous,” became Pablo’s most infamous track (we’ve all heard the Taylor Swift lyric by now).

Over the weekend, the rapper took it to yet another level when he released the song’s video, which pans over wax models of nude celebrities lying next to each other in bed. Joining Kanye is Swift, Bill Cosby, Donald Trump, Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Caitlyn Jenner, and a handful of other topical folk. It’s bizarre and, as you might imagine, an absolute goldmine for talk show fodder.

Both Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel took aim, as Pitchfork reports, with Kimmel calling the video “exceptionally Kanye-esque.” Kimmel airs the clip and shouts out the names of each celebrity as they appear until arriving at his beloved Guillermo, who’s lying at the end of the bed, sleepy but seemingly happy to be there.

It’s still unclear whether the people in the video gave Kanye permission to use their likenesses, but a tweet from Saturday asking “someone to sue [him] already” suggests he just went for it.

In Colbert’s parody, the Late Show host claims to have been cast in the original and tells West “I’mma sue you right now for cutting me out of that video.” Colbert himself is lying at the end of the bed this time, naked except for a nasal strip. “Yeah, we just had sex. All of us. At the same time,” he says before offering crackers to his bedmates. The sketch follows his best and probably most accurate line of the segment: “If that’s memory foam, that bed is going to have PTSD.”
