Steam users who signed up for the Steam Machine beta program may want to check their email accounts. Invites to the program are being sent out to the 300 lucky participants today and the actual units will ship out to those folks this Friday. The selected individuals will be graced with an awesome exclusive badge given to all beta participants, as well as a few games running on SteamOS in their libraries.
The Steam Controller is said to also be shipping out with the units on Friday. Unfortunately, the beta will only be taking place here in the U.S., but the commercial release of the Steam Machine won’t suffer any delays thanks to this as explained by Valve. More will be revealed about Valve’s Steam Machine January 6, 2014 during CES in Las Vegas.
