Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Reacts to the GHOSTBUSTERS Trailer

There have been some pretty strong reactions to the trailer for the new Ghostbusters film starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. Some have been positive, and others not so much. We have seen comments about the trailer not being funny, issue taken with Leslie Jones being the only non-scientist character (for the record, Jones defended her role as an MTA employee, saying that regular people save the world all the time—we later learned that the role was originally written for McCarthy), some pretty blatantly sexist reactions, and some people voicing a problem with the fact that this movie was made at all.

Apparently, even fictional supernatural characters have issues with the film. YouTube user and parody video creator Darren Wallace posted a video featuring the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man watching and reacting to the trailer. Now, despite the fact that he turned into a sort of beloved character in the cartoon and the years since the first Ghostbusters film (much like Slimer), you have to remember, he’s a bad guy. So let’s just say that his reaction isn’t exactly a positive one. We’ll leave it to you to decide if he’s a complete ass or not.

To be fair, Wallace posted this disclaimer in the YouTube video notes: “This is not necessarily a reflection of my opinion of the trailer but rather a satirical skit about the negative reaction it has received.” Uh huh.

We’d love to hear from you. Check out the video (and the cameos from Slimer and Gozer) and tell us if you think if the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is a complete butt puppet or if you agree with him. Even if you didn’t like the trailer, you have to admit that Kate McKinnon is a national treasure. Tweet me/us @JennaBusch/@Nerdist and let us know your thoughts. Also, are you craving toasted marshmallows all of a sudden?
