Disney and Lucasfilm have done it again! I’m not talking about setting a box office record or scoring further critical acclaim, but for inspiring droves of non-sports-fans to willingly tune into Monday Night Football. Star Wars lovers may not have been all that interested in what was happening between the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings, but they certainly did not want to miss the world premiere of the new trailer for The Last Jedi.

And once they got it (and watched it again and again and again), they swarmed back to Planet Twitter with a whole lot thoughts. So we gathered together some of our favorites, from the sincere to the silly to the ones that made us sob, to share with you the internet’s best reactions.
Spoiler alert: people like porgs.
Dear Star Wars, I'm not quite sure what this is but if you hurt/kill it, I will never watch your films again. #TheLastJedi pic.twitter.com/Yn6YAhoB7m

But it wasn’t all laughs and screams. Seeing the late Carrie Fisher in all her General Organa glory made this trailer bittersweet, especially due to the suggestion that her onscreen son Kylo Ren might be the one to kill her. It was hard to watch the trailer without feeling the enormous weight of her absenceâand that was especially true for her dog Gary.

I’m not crying, YOU’RE CRYING. Also I’m crying. So let’s get back to some of the less tear-inducing reactions, like how some people are also convinced Darth Vader’s presence is very much felt in the trailer, as well as in the newest poster we got for the movie.

But those observations pale in comparison to director Rian Johnson confirming whatârather, whoâsome fans noticed in the trailer.

Oh no. Oh no! We’re just going to move on.
Fans were also blown away by the gorgeous cinematography, which genuinely makes me think this could be the most beautiful Star Wars movie ever made.
Oscar Isaac is almost offensively handsome. An unfair distribution of good genes, there. #thelastjedi

The trailer also prompted plenty of predictions for The Last Jedi, especially pertaining to how it will connect to past Star Wars films.

But in the end, I’m sure things will be fine with Luke. Right, Mark Hamill?

Uuuungh.
I am not okay living in a world where Luke Skywalker is evil, so I’m going to need a real palette cleanser. Fortunately, not every reaction was so serious.

Like I said, there were lots of great reactions, from the insightful to the inane. But topping the lot was one reaction that combined Star Wars with our other great pop culture love…

Oh internet, I just can’t quit you. (Unless Luke really has turned to the Dark Side. Then I’m quitting everything forever.)
But what did you think of the trailer? What was your reaction? And what other responses from across the internet should we have included here? Share them and your thoughts with us in the comments below.
