Intense-Looking STAR WARS Hyper-Reality Experience Includes ROGUE ONE’s K-2SO

Expressing your passion for a given fandom will never go out of vogue, and these days, you can express your fandom by experiencing it in new, immersive ways. Whether it’s taking a Portkey into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios or preparing yourself to walk into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney Parks, you can be part of the stories you love. A new hyper-reality Star Wars experience from The VOID and ILMxLAB is leaning into that notion by putting participants in the middle of a mission for the Rebel Alliance.

Announced in August, Secrets of the Empire is opening at Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida on December 16 and at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, California on January 5. This isn’t an average “put on a headset and stand in the same spot” attraction. Instead, guests can move around freely in a multi-sensory experience as undercover rebel spies disguised as stormtroopers. The first look is kind of blowing my mind.

As you can see, your mission goes to the planet Mustafar. The fiery environment that Darth Vader calls home means The VOID has opportunities to hit participants with heat to sell the burning temps. I’m guessing having the high ground won’t matter, but you’ll have Rogue One‘s K-2SO at your side to guide you through the mission and uncover whatever threat the Empire’s hiding under its armor.

Tickets for Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire are available now for $29.95 at The VOID.

Have you already signed up to go on the mission? What other eras would you like to see in future VR experiences? Share your thoughts in the comments.
