STAR WARS REBELS Season Finale Trailer Shows the Return of Darth Vader

The season one finale of Star Wars Rebels airs next Monday, and the road ahead doesn’t look sunny for the crew of the Ghost. Last night’s episode, “Rebel Resolve,” showed the rebels taking extreme measures to learn where the Empire is holding Kanan prisoner. They tracked Kanan down just in time to find out that Tarkin is planning to move their friend to Mustafar, which is apparently now known as the place Jedi go to die. The situation looks dire but not impossible. Watch the trailer:

Kanan is free, and Ezra has reunited with him. They’ll be engaging in battle with the Inquisitor, which hasn’t ended so well for them in the past. While I don’t think we’ll lose Ezra this soon, the trailer shows that he may not triumph. One scene even shows Kanan wielding both his lightsaber and Ezra’s.

And then there’s the matter of Darth Vader returning to the series. If Kanan does indeed reach Mustafar, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that it has become a place where Jedi survivors are taken and executed – which makes you wonder about Kanan’s fate. This show is dark enough that I wouldn’t be surprised to see them kill off a major character. Ahh! I don’t know if I can take the anxiety.

If you want to know a couple more tidbits about the episode that were revealed in the recently released Star Wars Insider #156, keep scrolling. If not, stop reading now.

Darth Vader isn’t the only character who will return for the season finale. Bail Organa will be back. Also? The identity of Fulcrum will be revealed. Fingers crossed that it will be Ahsoka Tano from The Clone Wars.

I think I like REBELS more than CLONE WARS. (The c.g.I. version, not the Tartakovsky cartoon version.)  It starts running early on, and the dangling Ashoka mystery and the baby Hutt really left a bad taste in my mouth.
    Excited for the finale.

I thought Fulcrum was Bail Organa no?
