The STAR WARS REBELS Crew Soars to Save Hera in Premiere Clip

The following contains slight spoilers for the first half of Star Wars Rebels season 4.

With only seven episodes left in Star Wars Rebels (let’s take a moment to weep openly about the end of such an amazing show), we know we’re in for some sadness, fear, triumph, and hopefully resolution, if the recent teaser is any indication. We have a lot of questions leading into the final stretch, but the biggest and most pressing now is how the crew will save their beloved captain Hera Syndulla after her cliffhanging capture by Thrawn’s forces. The latest clip for the mid-season premiere, “Jedi Night,” gives us a clue.

We’d seen in the previous trailer that Kanan cut off his hair and shaved his beard, looking more like the blind samurai Zatoichi now than he ever has. Also I think he needs to clean up that neck a bit. Maybe square off that collar line. But intergalactic grooming aside, the plan for retrieving Hera includes infiltration and quietness: using gliders, Ezra and Sabine are disguised as Imperial pilots, and Kanan is…not really disguised at all. There’s got to be a reason for that.

Star Wars Rebels returns with two episodes on Monday, February 19, which means I can’t imagine everything’s going to go smoothly for the crew; there’s bound to be a cliffhanger between episodes, because that’s exciting. I’m intensely worried about several of the characters’ well-being, and even placed odds on who is most likely to make it (which you can read here). “Jedi Night” is followed that night by an episode called “DUME” so…yeah, I’m not looking for fanfare and fireworks here.
