Say you want to make the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs but you donât have a functioning vehicle capable of doing so. Why not play pretend with the forthcoming LEGOÂ Millennium Falcon set? In honor of The Last Jedi (and, appropriately, on the eve of Force Friday), LEGO announced its latest iteration of Hanâs Corellian freighter. And, for LEGO Master Builders and aspiring Jedi alike, itâs breathtaking.
This certainly isnât LEGOâs first foray into Star Wars sets, or even Millennium Falcon sets. But with its staggering 7,541 pieces and $799.99 price tag, itâs by far the biggest and the most expensive. In fact, itâs one of the largest LEGO sets ever. When fully assembled, it measures 1.5 feet long and a foot wide. For scale, hereâs a picture of my cat Midna sitting inside a mostly completed LEGO Tower Bridge set, which includes 4,295 pieces and measures nearly three feet long and just under a foot high.
Like the best LEGO sets, this is a painstakingly detailed model of the Falcon. Itâs decked out with features any fan would salivate over, from upper and lower quad laser cannons to removable hull plates that, when detached, reveal the shipâs vast interior. You can fit up to four minifigures in the cockpit, and you have your pick since the set includes both a young and old Han, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, C-3PO, Rey, and Finn. It also comes with a pre-made BB-8 figure and two buildable figures: Mynock and, naturally, a Porg.
Thereâs no way this set wonât sell out as soon as itâs released. We recommend seeking it out in-store, preferably at a LEGO shop, rather than ordering it online. Either way, LEGO will likely have them on backorder as quickly as possible after the initial rush, and eBay will most definitely have even higher-priced sets available the day of release.
How much would you pay for a LEGO set as stunning as this? Let us know in the comments!
