“Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope,” 1-Minute Speedrun Edition

Typically, the term “speedrun” is applied to fanatical gamers trying their damnedest to make it through a video game in the shortest time possible (I’m lookin’ at you, guy who beat Super Mario Bros. in 4 minutes, 58 seconds), but thanks to the evil animation geniuses at 1A4STUDIO, the term can now be applied to filmic works like Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. From the humble beginnings at Uncle Owen’s moisture farm to the thrilling conclusion at the thermal exhaust port, this animated adaptation speeds us through the 125 minute film at a blistering 1 minute, 1 second. Not even Anakin in a souped-up podracer could beat that time. And, I’ve got to say that even at sixty seconds, it’s still a damn good film.

What other films would you like to see get the speedrun treatment? My vote is for Tree of Life. Let us know in the comments below!
