Darth Vader might be the greatest villain from the galaxy far, far away, but remember: it was the man holding his leash who commanded the Death Star and destroyed the peaceful planet of Alderaanâwe’re referring, of course, to Grand Moff Tarkin. And while it might seem impossible anyone could have been more sinister in the role than the late, great Peter Cushing, it turns out the death of millions is far more chilling when the order is given by one of the sweetest characters ever, Cinderella.
On the latest episode of our Alpha series Talkin’ Toons, host Rob Paulsen was joined by Jennifer Hale, the current voice of Disney‘s Cinderella, and the two did a gender-swapped recreation of Princess Leia and Grand Moff Tarkin’s iconic scene together from Star Wars: A New Hope. It’s definitely one of our strangest crossovers yet, and also one of our best.
Cushing might have been pure evil as Tarkin, but his actions also seemed detached and Machiavellian, whereas Hale’s soft-spoken princess sounds like a total lunatic who is truly enjoying wiping out a planet of innocent people. Who would have guessed Cinderella could sound so terrifying.
Remember, you can only find the rest of this and all other episodes of Talkin’ Toons at our online Alpha community, where we have lots of other great series to check out. When you sign up your first 30 days are on us!
