A deep and abiding love of Star Wars spans all generations and nowhere was this more evident than at this past weekendâs Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim. Fans of all ages came to celebrate the franchise that they love so dearly and make the galaxy far, far away feel a little bit closer.
Cosplayers always bring out their best when it comes to conventions and at Star Wars Celebration, kids cosplay stood out from the crowd by being inventive and fun on a tiny scale. Parents are getting more and more creative with their childrenâs costumes, not only with sewing and painting but some are making armor and even creating elaborate transport systems for their younglings.
As your Fitbit will tell you, walking a con floor isnât easy and sometimes you can clock up to 7 miles a day. Parents tend to get creative with their strollers; one added AT-AT side panels, while another created a mini 74-Z speeder bike. One child wore a ship made entirely of balloons, which was most ambitious due to the intense crowds on the con floor. The balloon ship was easy to carry and assured that he would never be lost, but those were definitely some sturdy balloons.
Kid cosplayers Chihiro and Chieko are old hat at the cosplay game, and they wore yet another stunning ensemble created by their parents of twin Ahsokas made with EVA foam and fabric. The girls were excited that Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka, actually asked to take a picture with them. However, at cons comfort can be key and everyday cosplay was the trend from DIY Artoo dresses to Death Star headbands, putting a simple spin on cosplay makes for easy and fun kids wear.
From hand sewn ewok suits to homemade armor, the kids cosplay on display at Star Wars Celebration was stunning, proving that a deep love of fandom can rule the galaxy.
