Listen to STAR WARS’ Cantina Song Played on a Rubik’s Cube

Truth be told, I didn’t think anyone could come up with a more creative way to play the Mos Eisley “Cantina Song” than with a pencil and paper. And I definitely didn’t think anyone could do so this quickly. However, when you can not only use a Rubik’s Cube to play a beloved song from the galaxy far, far away, but also do so while simultaneously solving it, you deserve the top spot for the most impressive cover of a Star Wars song.

YouTube user TheCubician says the version of the song “played by a pencil and a girl with too much time on her hands” was the inspiration for his unlikely take. This is another case of someone with “too much time” on their hands resulting in something very cool.

Yoda knows how many hours of my life I’ve wasted futilely trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube, let alone play a song with one, so as far as I’m concerned this was a perfectly good use of time and energy.

If you are having trouble hearing it, listen to the real version and then go back and watch the Rubik’s Cube video again. You won’t be able to miss it.

Crazy. But I’d guess someone out there will be inspired by this the way you were by the pencil version, so just like the clientele of the Mos Eisley Cantina, I expect more and more strange versions to keep showing up.

So enjoy your reign at the top of the strange Star Wars cover mountain, Rubik’s Cube version, because someone will probably break the code to outdo you soon enough.
