STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT to Run at Stable 60fps on PS4, According to Report

The Force seems to be strong with the Xbox One and PS4, at least when it comes to Star Wars: Battlefront’s frame rate. According to Digital Foundry, the final version of the highly anticipated sci-fi first-person shooter–which launches tomorrow– has seen some improvements since its beta test, which released not too long ago.

The technical report conducted by the website shows that the game runs at a stable 60 frames per second on the PS4, though they were only able to test 30-player matches and not the full 40-player games, due to some circumstances. The Xbox One version apparently doesn’t run as smooth, but the drop-off may not be substantial enough to scare you away form this version as the fps only seems to dip to the mid-50s. It’ll be interesting to see how Sony’s console will handle the large-scale matches in the game.

In short, you’ll be having a buttery smooth frame rate for the most part on both consoles. The same report also states that the PS4 version is still the best looking one, though things aren’t bad at all for Xbox One players. You’ll be able to lightsaber slash with no issues, regardless of what platform you game on.

The good news is that both final versions of the game are vastly improved from the beta stage, and that’s incredible considering that most people had smooth experiences with the pre-launch code. You can read the full analysis here.
