STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE Rumor Links Felicity Jones to Original Trilogy

Star Wars: Rogue One is well over a year away, and Disney and Lucasfilm have managed to keep most of the details under wraps for the first ever Star Wars anthology film. However, there is a big rumor circulating about the currently unnamed character portrayed by Felicity Jones in Star Wars: Rogue One. If it’s true, then she’ll be connected to one of the fan-favorite characters from the original trilogy!

Possible SPOILERS are ahead! Consider yourself warned!

The rumor is that Jones’ character will be the daughter of Boba Fett, the iconic bounty hunter from The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Presumably, the film would play up on the fact that Fett sides with the Empire while his daughter is firmly in the Rebel camp.

We’re not sure if the timeline completely holds up for Boba Fett to have a fully-grown daughter as played by Jones in a movie that takes place shortly before the original Star Wars. And there is every chance that this rumor doesn’t have anything official to back it up. So don’t get too excited. It’s far from confirmed.

Aside from Jones’ casting, very little about Star Wars: Rogue One has been revealed. The film will take place shortly before Episode IV as a band of Rebels (including Jones’ character) set out to steal the plans for the Death Star. Riz Ahmed and Diego Luna have been rumored to be playing Rebels, while Ben Mendelsohn is slated to be the film’s main villain. Reports have also linked Forest Whitaker and Sam Claflin to Star Wars: Rogue One.

Director Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One will hit theaters on December 16th, 2016.

Star Wars fans, how do you feel about the possibility that Felicity Jones is playing Boba Fett’s daughter? We want them your comments, but no disintegrations!
