STAR TREK: DISCOVERY Beams a New Trailer into Comic-Con

“All life is born from chaos.”

That’s the opening line to the latest trailer for CBS All Access’s upcoming new series, Star Trek Discovery, which beamed into San Diego Comic-Con today. And if what they had to show us is any indication, this show will also be born from chaos. Lots and lots of chaos.

Exploration meets warfare and sacrifice for the series lead, Lt. Commander Michael Burnham, played by The Walking Dead‘s Sonequa Martin-Green. She finds that sometimes doing the right thing comes at a great personal cost, and from the looks of it so does redemption.

Explosions, Vulcans, a Klingon Empire that’s been in disarray for generations, and a super slick style that makes this look like a big budget Star Trek movie instead of a TV series, this trailer has us totally ready to head out to the final frontier once more, to the earliest days of the Federation.

Especially because we love anything that has Jason Isaacs in it, and because Rainn Wilson’s space pirate/con artist Harry Mudd already looks like he could be one of the most fun characters ever to join the Star Trek universe.

Not to mention we’re more than ready to see a full blown account of the time period when the Federation and the Klingons engaged in all out warfare.

Star Trek: Discovery comes to CBS All Access this fall, September 24.
