When it comes to Marvel movies, thereâs one constant we canât wait to appear every time the studio logo begins to roll: an army of vaguely gray, anonymous monsters. Oh, and a Stan Lee cameo. Over the years, the famed comic creator’s appearances on the big screen have varied between one-off gags to story-relevant moments (like in The Incredible Hulk, he inadvertently leads the government to Bruce Bannerâs location in the first act of the movie after he drinks irradiated soda). However, his appearances arenât limited to that the big screen; Stan the Man has also appeared in various forms on television as well.
Of course thereâs all his voice work on Disney XDâs Ultimate Spider-Man animated series, but it wasnât too long ago Lee cameoed in a season one episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for ABC, and now, thanks to official statements made by Stan, we can confirm it wonât be the last small screen cameo we see from him.
At a book signing for longtime Marvel writer Roy Thomasâ 75 Years of Marvel: From the Golden Age to the Silver Screen, Lee stated, âOh by the way, I do have a cameo in a new show coming out, a TV show called Agent Carter, I think,â adding, âwatch for the fourth one. I think my cameo is in the fourth episode. They ought to be ashamed of themselves that they didnât give me three others before that, but what the hell? But itâs kind of a good cameo.â
The âkind of a good cameoâ makes us believe this could be another one the more plot-centric ones weâve seen rather than a jokey one. Of course, it could just be a really funny jokey one, and thatâd be fine too.
Agent Carter premiers Tuesday, January 6Â at 8/7c on ABC.
