Stan Lee Picks Sides for CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

With Captain America: Civil War being the next installment in the Captain America franchise—you know, the one that made Chris Evans a worldwide superstar—fans have been wondering which side Stan “The Man” Lee (who is 92 and still going strong) would actually choose in the battle. It’s a fair question, though tricky. As that May 2016 release date inches ever closer, though, the godfather of comics has picked sides.

At the recent Edmonton Comic Expo in Canada, a die-hard fan burst forward to get the goods. Lee answered with characteristic sincerity, “whatever side Captain America was on, because he’s the best, pure-hearted person in the whole world.” He further added, “by the way, he’s a great actor, too, the guy who plays Captain America does a beautiful job — Chris Evans.” But his answer wouldn’t be complete without a little comic relief, “I say that because he likes me, and anyone who likes me is a great actor.”

Also during the Q&A, a fan asked what Lee’s favorite movie cameo has been, and Lee replied, “Don’t miss the new X-Men [X-Men: Apocalypse] movie when it comes out, because I have a cameo in that one, and I have a guest star with me in that cameo. I’m not going to tell you who it is, but you’ll get a kick out of it.” Fans, look out for that!
