I always knew Han was a Brown Coat!!

  2. Back in MY day, our Imperial storm troopers only needed a lead bucket fer a helmet!
You kids now with your fancy helmets and your vibro-blades and your 4-LOMs and your IG-88s and your “winning smiles” and your Boushhs and your sarlaacs and your yub-yubs and your holocrons and your Mandalorians and your Jek Porkins and your Captain Picards and your Nazguls and your “Utinni!”s and your expanded universes and your B’omarr monks and your Malakilis and AT-ATs and your…

And the mass re-merchandising begins again.  Loved the photo bomb of jar jar vader and the sebulba reference.  Meh on the pic and the helmet redux.  Only a star destroyer and not their own death star.   Damn.

  4. Darth EaT Me says:

Worst Host ever. Why not have some stupid frat boy with her going.. yeah bra…   First time to see the Nerdist, Last time to come.

FOR SHAME!! Throwing a sonic screwdriver!!! Tisk tisk you gummy chipmunk!

  6. lnak says:

I loved that the stormtroopers were described as “McQuarrian” because they totally do resemble the old concept art drawings. You guys are Nerdist, you get it, and you are awesome! I want to see some black ops / Seal-type troopers all in matte black armor!

    • LongBottomLeaf says:

yes please, we need more modern military in our sci-fi. let’s just get micheal bay to make the movie

      • lnak says:

I’m glad you agree!  BTW, who’s Micheal Bay?

Anyway, there were the Arc Troopers in Clone Wars and Crimson Guards as the elite but the movies never showed them in action much.  I want to see some troopers evading shots and take out some good guys instead of standing around getting killed most of the time.

  7. JoshuaKahan says:

Call me a purist but I don’t think the Stormtroopers needed a makeover. It wouldn’t suprise me if the first trooper was wearing Adidas superstars, that’s just the vibe. And the 2nd dude looks like what would happen if robocop grew a robo mullet and had kid with daft punk.

    • MattLee says:

You’re right about the Storm Trooper helmets. When they made the prequels, they actually had a reason to make all the uniforms different because they were on a different side at the time. When they changed to the empire, they got new armor. Makes sense.

If the republic won and the emperor was killed (the issuer of order 66), wouldn’t they go back to being clone troopers?

      • Sharlz says:

Uh, no, to your question re clone troopers. There are few actual clones by the time of the original trilogy. In fact during the clone wars they had begun cloning clones with dire effect  (they started getting physical and mental defects).
By the time of the original trilogy they were majority enlisted troops (which you can tell by the height/stature variations as opposed to the uniform height/stature of the clones)
Also, the didn’t pick up “storm” because they were now reporting to the emperor – this was to do with their classification eg the ones on Hoth were designated “snowtroopers”. Stormtroopers were merely the equivalent of your basic footsoldier
