Spock Pancakes: An Edible Tribute to Leonard Nimoy

Vulcans are traditionally vegetarian, but does that apply to eating your own face? We’re talking breakfast food, and pancakes with the visage of one Mr. Spock are hard to resist.

Nathan Shields of Saipancakes is the master of flapjacks. He’s cooked up some of the most amazing creations with just batter and squeeze bottle. His beautiful works of art are fleeting, both in the time it takes to make them and in their sustainability. While the pancakes are masterpieces, it’s only a matter of time before you give in and eat the edible monuments to pop culture.

Shields’ most recent creation is an homage to Leonard Nimoy who sadly passed away last week. An outpouring of tributes have popped up around the internet, but none have been quite as captivating. In his video you can see how with just a few quick squeezes of batter perfectly timed to cook just so, a quick flip and the squiggles magically transform into Nimoy’s most iconic character. To pass up a pancake this wonderful would be highly illogical.

So add a pat of Star Trek Starfleet butter and give a Vulcan salute towards the Final Frontier. These pancakes may not last long but Leonard Nimoy will Live Long and Prosper forever in our hearts.
