SPIDER-MAN Tries out His Powers in This HOMECOMING Clip

With great power comes great responsibility, but with new powers comes insufficient tentativety…sometimes. In this new clip from Spider-Man: Homecoming, Peter’s attempts to sneak back home in his spider-suit, utilizing all his newfound abilities, are thwarted by the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s tendency to have secret identities exposed really quickly.

Peter was supposed to finish building a LEGO Death Star? Hmm, guess The Empire Strikes Back is more than just some really old movie now, isn’t it! But hey, at least now you both get to enjoy the fun of building it all over again. Then we get flashes from the rest of the movie, with Iron Man and the Vulture ever present, Spidey striking the same Messianic poses as his cinematic predecessors while trying to very literally hold it all together, and Zendaya being condescending, which of course has to mean she’ll love him by the end…right?

The tone feels very Marvel movie, which for most of us is a nice change from the Andrew Garfield era that couldn’t seem to settle on a tone. And the costume first inflating, then disappearing is both a convenient plot device and a cool bit of Stark future-tech.

Are you happy about the way the movie is shaping up? Doesn’t he just feel like he good be the sort of friendly neighborhood guy you’d want protecting you? Shoot us a line in comments and tell us what you think.
