SPIDER-MAN’s New Story Trailer Gives Us a Glimpse of Silver Sable

With the game’s release only a few months away, the hype for Spider-Man on PS4 is real. Like real real. And that only got…realer(?) with a new trailer. The story trailer dropped at the Marvel Games panel at SDCC in Hall H on Thursday, and not only did we get a hint of what the story will be, but we also got our first glimpse of Silver Sable, an anti-hero made popular by The Amazing Spider-Man comic series.

We now know that as the events in the city begin to escalate, Mayor Norman Osborn hires Silver Sable and her mercenaries to restore the city to order, and because Osborn thinks Spider-Man is contributing to the chaos, he happens to be a target. We also see the iconic trio of Spidey, Mary Jane, and Miles Morales together for the first time.

The panel also revealed that if you pre-order the game, you can get a special in-game item called the Velocity Suit, which is the third special suit you unlock with the order. There’s also a way to earn the suits in game, so don’t worry if you didn’t get your hands on them early.

In addition, Insomniac Games and Marvel Games unveiled a new Limited Edition PlayStation 4 Pro bundle for Marvel’s Spider-Man. A custom Amazing Red 1TB PS4 Pro with the iconic white spider and matching red controller will be launching alongside the game. The bundle will be available in the U.S. and Canada for $399.99 USD and $499.99 CAD respectively. Marvel’s Spider-Manwill be out September 7.
