â« Spider-Men, Spider-Men,
Filled a plane as only they can
They took to the skies,
Like a bunch of flies
Look Out!
You got bumped to coach by Spider-Men. â«
As if flying isn’t already hard enough for us mere mortals, now we have to compete for seats with superheroes, too?
Actually, the only way you could have earned a seat on Jetstar’s inaugural Spider-Man themed airplane from Tokyo to Osaka, Japan was to cosplay as the friendly neighborhood hero.

We came across this story at Kotaku, which explained that it was part of the budget airliner’s promotional tie-in for this summer’s release of Spider-Man: Homecoming. All passengers who applied for a ticket were required to dress up like Peter Parker’s alter ego to take part on the flight, and the 40 winners of the contest all happily obliged.
The results are as ridiculous as you would imagine.

Oh, you think that’s it? Well Spider-Man isn’t the only big time superhero who will be featured in Homecoming, which is why they had their very own Tony Stark show up too.

The “Spider-Jet” is continuing to make flights across Japan (hey, even Spider-Man needs a break from swinging between buildings sometimes), but we don’t think you need to cosplay to get a seat now. (But don’t wear pajama pants on the plane either, you know?)
Homecoming comes to theaters on July 7th.
