We first started drooling over Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite back in December of 2016 when the first game trailer debuted and are surprised we haven’t succumbed to dehydration yet.  We were given yet another taste at this year’s E3 and they’ve even managed to keep our attention in the midst of San Diego Comic Con. Granted, it’s with footage of Spider-Man fighting and we’d pretty much drop anything to see that.
The gameplay in the new video gives us some fighting styles of Mike Haggar (Final Fight), Frank West (Dead Rising), Nemesis (Resident Evil), Spider-Man, a non MCU version of Gamora, and a non-Brolin’d Thanos. Additionally, we see a little bit of how the Infinity Stones come into play during the game instead of the third supporting character players could select in previous games. As with previous titles in the series, the gameplay is incredibly fast paced and combo driven with character swapping playing a big role in the success of a fight. Gameplay also appears a heck of a lot smoother than ever before with incredible detail on character design and backgrounds. It all seems well worth the years-long gap between this and 2011’s fantastic Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds.
Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite is set for a North American and European release of September 19, 2017
What are you looking forward to most in the new game? Are you psyched Thanos is sort of playing on the side of good? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
