Someone Built a LEGO Wedding Cake with Tiny Fondant Bricks

Growing up with LEGO toys is an absolute joy. You can build whatever you want, mix and match colors, and design an entire world where tiny figurines get to explore it as they see fit. That age restriction on the box isn’t really a cutoff, either. Given the LEGO franchise continues to sell wildly each year, and The Lego Movie made the Best Of year-end lists of many critics whose noses remained raised high in the air, it’s safe to say the plastic creations make anyone and everyone happy.

So it comes as no surprise that one couple asked for their wedding cake to take after it.

Behold, an entire wedding cake made out of LEGO characters and tiny fondant LEGO bricks. The family behind Cupcakes by SJ built the three-tier LEGO-themed wedding cake from scratch. The daughter made each LEGO brick individually from fondant while the father got to work on the rest. Note that it’s a “work in progress”: a team of worker minifigs are rolling out the final layer of icing over the visible bricks, bringing a sense of community to the otherwise sheer baked good.

My talented Father does it again with a special creation for my cousins wedding, though I did make the edible Lego bricks

Cupcakes by SJ is not a business, but rather a family that bakes for friends only over in Southeast London. They have also made plenty of edible Christmas lights, Rubik’s cubes, and a tiny Captain Hook display over the years, all of which are cute, but nothing takes the cake quite like this one.

We wish the married couple a happy, playful, and colorful life together! If they want to adopt us to their epic family, that’s cool, too.
