Someone 3D Printed a Trisaber!

It’s now been a week since our childlike eyes grew wide in response to the first official look at J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens. However, while we loved the new ball droid, the revamped X-Wings and crazy looking Millennium Falcon dogfight, the one element that’s caused a stir more than any other is the brand new Sith Trisaber/claymore/crossguardsaber.

So far, the true purpose of the two add-on sabers remains a mystery. Are they for hand protection, additional offense, or something more sinister? Well, thanks to some folks over at Le FabShop you can make your own and figure it out in real-space thanks to their recently released 3D printing files:

It’s going to be a while before the new weapon hits toy shelves, so if your heart is set on getting one (which it should be because making things is awesome), this seems 100% the way to go. Of course, you’ll need a lot of material, but what’s production cost to a star wars fan, really? (And, hey, if you don’t own a 3D printer, just make one out of cardboard tubing. There are always ways.)

To obtain the files in question, just head over to the instuctables page. Download them and follow the instructions to build yourself your very own Sith weapon.

Now, ye nerds, head off to craft the next great Star Wars item! You know this won’t be the last.
