Sneaky Zebra Covers the Cosplay Scene at MCM London Comic Con

For my money, no one does cosplay videos as well as Sneaky Zebra. They capture the wide variety of costumes at every convention they attend and show cosplayers in action. They went to MCM London Comic Con just over a week ago, and they put together four minutes of rad cosplay from the event. They spotted Morticia Addams, Elsa, the Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond, Captain Americas (plural and of both genders!), and ended the video with an awesome The Wild Thornberrys cosplay group. Watch:

The way they shoot cosplayers is definitely one of the reasons why their videos stand out. The stilted speed-up and slow down method is oddly smooth. Besides that, Sneaky Zebra seems to take the time to get cool shots. Most of us who take pictures and video of costumes at conventions do so casually. I barely even use an actual camera anymore and instead rely on my phone. I snap pics inside the convention center (usually in crowded aisles because sometimes I’m that person) rather than going outside for a more aesthetically pleasing shot. Sneaky Zebra actually coordinates with cosplayers to grab footage of actions that match the character being cosplayed. One particular shot in the London Comic Con video is especially impressive in that regard because it involves multiple cosplayers and exact timing.

Plus, they’re all about the details. If you look in the distance past the Arrow cosplayer, there’s a neon green “Q Consolidated” sign in the background. Brilliant.

Which costumes in the video do you like best? I’m all about those Thornberrys.

  1. So many great ones in there! Including a bunch you don’t usually see like The Mummy and Mirror’s Edge.  Loved the Borderlands group as well.
