Here’s a long-range sneak peek at the season finale of BBC America’s The Nerdist, posted extra-early as part of YouTube Comedy Week, and when you see who’s in it, you’ll understand their eagerness: Seth Rogen, Zach Galifianakis, and Evan Goldberg are on hand to join Chris Hardwick in a rousing game of “BBC-een It,” the game in which Jonah and Matt challenge guests to guess whether a show name and description is for a fake show or a real show. Who wins? You’ll have to tune in June 1st, 10/9c on BBC America to find out. Natasha Leggero is also on that episode.
(Oh, come on, guys, The Likely Lads was a pretty big deal in the ’60s. Too easy!)

As a matter of fact the Gnomes seem to’ve been repeated even until the late ’70s in Australia and new Zealand. It’s thought that a few clips may still exist as used in other programs.

@Josh @Chuck W.: “The Gnomes of Dulwich” was likely lost for good in the early ’70s videotape wiping that relegated much of the BBC and ITV archives to memory. The BFI has some good material on that – look for a book called “Missing Presumed Wiped” – and it’s why there are gaps in “Doctor Who” and other shows. It’s rare that a one-series show like “Gnomes” from before roughly 1972 can be found (there was no syndication or cable afterlife for British TV yet, and the tape was, back then, expensive; if a show wasn’t being sold overseas, erased it was). It was another showcase for popular comic actors Terry Scott (the voice of Penfold on “Danger Mouse”!) and Hugh Lloyd, who’d paired on the earlier “Hugh and I,” but this one was so bizarre, it only lasted the one series. Terry went on to the iconic “Happy Ever After”/”Terry and June” with June Whitfield (Edina’s mom on “Absolutely Fabulous” and the nurse on the legendary Tony Hancock “Blood Donor” episode); he passed away several years ago. (Yes, I know WAY too much about obscure TV on several continents…)
@Me2: Yes, we’re listening. Not a lot we can do, though. Different networks have different business plans and arrangements; the new distribution methods of TV are still an evolving world, so everybody has a different idea of how to navigate it and are trying out various strategies. That’s a verbose way of shrugging my shoulders and saying “I dunno.” The shows are on iTunes and Amazon Instant Video, though, at least in the U.S., so there’s that option….
DEAR CH&NERDS: Can you get BBCA to post more of their shows on their website, or (hope against hope) Hulu? The American Big 3 even concede to posting their shows online. If this show is really and truly for nerds, most of us cannot watch because we now use alternate methods of entertainment transport. Thanks for listening…. (hello? hello? you’re listening, right?)

I am not sure if I like these spoilers for the BBC America show. I like watching them, but it kind of makes me not care during the show when these segments are on. I do like that this time you did not show the whole game/segment.
I will STFU and enjoy my burrito now.
