This interview is frustrating because the writers want us to deprive Mary Wells of any right to human dignity and mercy, why? Katrina’s conduct with respect to Mary, not Ichabod, is just horribly wrong. Likening the conduct at issue here is very far from just reading a partner’s email. This interview makes me really question the way these characters and story lines will be developed. Maybe I should stay away from podcasts.
I think you’re right to have those kinds of questions and, unfortunately, sometimes creatives don’t make decisions for characters that we agree with. I think if you enjoy the show you should stick with it, though. We’re only a third of the way through the season.
Why does the writer consider Katrina’s conduct in a morally grey area with respect to Mary? We see Mary on dry land with a head injury. Somehow she ended in the river, deprived of a proper burial. Are we supposed to assume someone other than Katrina dumped Mary’s body in the river? If Katrina dumped Mary’s body in the river, that’s not morally ambiguous. It’s just wrong. What am I missing?
