Simon Pegg Goes Pro in Trailer for KILL ME THREE TIMES

You’re probably on the same page as we are regarding one of our favorite actors, Mr. Simon Pegg: that guy can play anything he wants. He’s been a hero in the great many of the movies he’s been in since Shaun of the Dead, but he’s never — and I apologize to him profusely for this — been particularly badass. But, friends, that has changed with the first trailer for the new film Kill Me Three Times, in which Pegg plays an uber-professional assassin who gets embroiled in the petty squabbles and murder-thievery of three separate groups of people, all converging in Australia following a botched job. It’s quite a change for the Nerd-Do-Well, especially with the handlebar moustache.

That looks like a huge amount of fun, and is if all the review blurbs in the spot are accurate. Kill Me Three Times is written by first-time screenwriter James McFarland and directed by Kriv Stenders, a person with perhaps the most Aussie name I’ve ever heard. Other cast members include Teresa Palmer, Luke Hemsworth, and Alice Braga.

This movie looks like it’ll be a fun mixture of the crime movies I love like Lock Stock or Lucky Number Slevin (yes, I’m the one who likes that movie), but with a distinctly Australian edge which hasn’t much been represented in the crime-comedy-caper flick very much. I likes what I sees so far, and we don’t have long to wait; Kill Me Three Times is on iTunes and On Demand March 26th and in theaters April 10th.
