Sia Debuts “Unforgettable” Cover from FINDING DORY on ELLEN

Pixar + Ellen + Sia + Nat King Cole? Sounds like waking up on Christmas morning wrapped in a warm blanket with bacon and coffee smells wafting into your room.

Sia has performed on Ellen many times now, often accompanied by her talented mini-me, Maddie Ziegler. On her latest visit, the enigmatic singer came alone and debuted her cover of Irving Gordon’s, “Unforgettable”—as made famous by Nat King Cole. As Stereogum reports, the song will feature in the upcoming Pixar film, Finding Dory. (Ellen is involved in that project, too, of course.)

Clad in her two-toned Sia wig, a black bow, and an uncomfortable looking dress, Sia crooned the R&B standard, capturing its sultry character. After the performance, Ellen thanked Sia, telling her she “couldn’t imagine anyone else [singing it].” Sia explained, “Dory’s story makes me teary.” Ellen agreed: “Dory’s story makes a lot of people teary. It’s really beautiful when you see it, and when you hear it, it makes even more sense.” The track is sure to tug at your heartstrings when it appears in the Pixar sequel, which comes out June 17.

Ellen also gave her audience tickets to Sia’s upcoming Hollywood Bowl show, part of her recently announced 20-gig tour—her first full tour in five years. The singer will be promoting her latest record, This is Acting, and she’ll be supported by fellow smooth operators, Miguel and AlunaGeorge.

Check out her performance above and let us know what you think in the comments.
