There is little else in a movie that gives us the feels as much as a good old fashioned dance sequence. Dancing in movies lets us see characters band together, blow off steam, get the girl, get the boy or just give us a glimpse of their personality. Just try not to smile while watching this dancing super cut set to Walk The Moon’s 2014 Billboard Top 40 hit “Shutup and Dance”

In this fun compilation that must have taken YouTuber MsTabularasa a long time to make, we see dozens of films spanning many genres. Whether it’s the song, the flawless timing in the edit or the fact that as human beings, dancing is a primal part within all of us; we just can’t stop watching this. The pleasure we find in music and dance is truly distinct to our species and this video surely scratches that itch we all feel in our DNA. It is no coincidence that most of these clips are the more memorable moments of the films they reside in. You can’t deny that dancing is a part of us all and that just might be what makes this video so appealing.

Some are key to the plot like Dirty Dancing, Flashdance and of course Footloose. Others, while not pivotal to the plot let us know something about the characters that dialogue otherwise could not as with Risky Business and Reservoir Dogs. There are even movies like Slumdog Millionaire and The 40 Year Old Virgin that have post credit dance sequences put in just for fun.
