SHERLOCK Will Host a Live Mystery for Fans to Solve on Twitter

The best part of watching Sherlock is seeing those nearly impossible-to-spot clues come together in the cracking of a difficult case. The mysteries are often so engaging that it is almost an involuntary response to try to solve the mystery alongside Sherlock. Of course, we all have experienced those instances where our skills of deduction fall short of Sherlock Holmes‘ (I remember audibly saying “I would have never gotten that” when Sherlock realized the code to Irene Adler’s phone). However, any fan of Sherlock Holmes or detective shows in general can’t help but imagine how they’d fare solving a case on their own. The BBC is finally giving you the chance to take your skills of deduction, reasoning, and problem solving out for a test drive with a live Sherlock mystery that will play out on Twitter.

As Mashable reports, Sherlock himself will be taking over the BBC One Twitter account today at 8:00 pm GMT (that’s 3:00 pm EST for those of us who are located in the US). We don’t really know what to expect at all from the Twitter mystery, but BBC One has been tweeting about the Sherlock takeover for the past several hours to get people hyped up for the digital adventure.

This has been a bit of a rough week for Sherlock fans. While we can never fully guess what the future will hold, we’ve all started to come to the stark realization that we are likely staring down the barrel of the final episode of Benedict Cumberbatch‘s run as Sherlock Holmes. So it will be a welcome distraction to redirect some of that angst into a good old fashioned round of playing as consulting detectives.

For now, we don’t know much more than to keep an eye on the BBC One Twitter and the #SherlockLive hashtag around 3:00 pm EST, but we can’t wait to see what digital adventures Sherlock Holmes has in store for us today!

Will you be playing along with the Sherlock digital mystery? What are your guesses about what’s in store for everyone? Let us know what you think in the comments!
