Seiko is Releasing Ripley’s Watch from ALIENS

Ripley from the Alien trilogy is easily the most iconic character that Sigourney Weaver has ever played. While her stark wardrobe wasn’t usually the focus (intentionally, of course), you’ll probably remember the eye-catching watch that wrapped around her wrist in James Cameron‘s Aliens. That baby was the Seiko 7A28-7000, brought to us from Italian car designer, Giorgetto Giugiaro. Due to popular demand (i.e. fans scrambling for the expensive watch on eBay), Seiko is now reissuing the classic timepiece for a modestly priced limited run.

In fact, they’ll release two versions of the watch, the Seiko Spirit Smart SCED037 (in black) and the SCED035 (in grey). According to Gizmodo, the watches will have slightly sleeker look than the original, but they still feature the unique side panel that sticks out from one side and boasts a set of chronograph buttons. The biggest difference is that they’re missing the crown and extra button on the left side of its case, but hey, we don’t think you’ll miss that too much. They look pretty damn slick and will set you back about $260 to $290.

In lieu of wearing Ripley’s exact watch, these re-vamped Seiko watches are pretty solid options for fans or collectors out there. And if you simply need a new watch and don’t care about Aliens, this is a neat choice for you, too.

Would you put one of these watches on your Christmas list? Let us know on Twitter, or sound off below!
