Brett Ratner is not messing around with this mega-version of Hercules, everyone’s favorite demi-god. It’s an adaptation of the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars, which picks up after Hercules has already completed his legendary twelve labors. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stars as the titular hero as well as Zeus and Achilles, making for a fun “Parent Trap” style movie-going event.
Featuring Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes, John Hurt, and Rufus Sewell, this latest take on Hercules seems to be of the “go big or go home” school of thought.
Hercules hits U.S. theaters on July 25, 2014.
Judging by the trailer, I’d say the movie is about the 12 labours – they’ve got Cerberus, The Hydra, the Nemean Lion and the Erymanthian Boar, each of whom made up a labour.
