See The Many Faces of David Bowie in this Beautifully Illustrated GIF

22 year-old UK artist Helen Green celebrated The Thin White Duke’s 68th birthday with a collage of breathtaking and comprehensive portraits, all presented in GIF form, appropriately titled, “Time May Change Me”.

The GIF includes 29 illustrations of the mercurial musician, spanning the length of his 50-year career, from his pre-Bowie days as Davie Jones and the King Bees to a 2014 photo by Jimmy King taken around the release of “Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)”. Aladdin Sane Bowie, Ashes to Ashes Bowie, Jareth the Goblin King Bowie- they are all here. Though you will have to look quick, as the gif swiftly whips through the entire set fast enough to give you Bowie-lash, never lingering on a single image long enough to detract from the overall effect.

Green’s Bowie seems alive, maintaining an almost unnerving amount of eye-contact, as he turns through the images. The portraits’ eyes also highlights Green’s attention to detail, as she made note to artfully include his anisocoria, the permanently dilated pupil that makes his irises appear of two different colors. I am completely nerding out over this gif.

Here, Green’s done us the great favor of including all the images, side by side, so we can admire each in all its inky glory.

You can check out more of Green’s Bowie art on her Tumblr.
