The prospect of Star Wars-themed lands at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios is so exciting that it sort of seems too good to be true. Part of me still doesn’t believe it’s really happening, so any tidbit confirming forward progress makes me happy and relieved because it means my dreams are really coming true. And since Disney is celebrating the official groundbreaking for their Star Wars lands in both Anaheim and Orlando, I think I can finally put my worries to rest. Construction has begun on the whopping 14-acre expansion at both parks, and they captured the scope of the work at Disneyland with a special 360-degree photo:
Who needs bulldozers and excavators when you have AT-ATs and TIE fighters at your disposal? Though if we’re being real, I don’t think TIE fighters would be much help. They’re best for wrecking things, not building them.
The appearance of unique galactic resources in the photo is cute, but if you look past BB-8 and the stormtroopers, you can get an idea about the space Disney is working with. Looking at the 14-acre plot on a map is different than taking a virtual tour like this to see where the borders are. I see nothing but potential and opportunities. Star Wars land will be the home of never-before-seen planet and an immersive experience with all the theming–attractions, food, characters, oh my. I can’t wait to explore.
Head to the comments and tell me about what you hope to see in Star Wars land.
