See 3:10 TO YUMA on 3/10 at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica

Fans of the James Mangold western 3:10 to Yuma, don’t miss your opportunity to catch the film on the big screen at the Aero Theatre on March 10th.

It’s an easy one for your calendar: 3:10 on 3/10. I only wish it was screening at 3:10, but that’s may be a little too OCD of me. (It’s screening at 7:20 pm.) I’m consoling myself with the fact that the area code for Santa Monica is 310.

The film will be followed by a discussion and Q & A with James Mangold, moderated by Geoff Boucher.

Boucher has this to say about the event:

“Aero programmer Grant Moninger didn’t think twice when I mentioned the idea of going back to Yuma with Mangold. Both of us are big fans of Mangold films like Copland and Walk the Line and both of us love great Westerns when they come along, and 3:10 to Yuma is definitely part of that recent posse along with the Coens’ True Grit, Meek’s Cutoff, Open Range, Rango, and of course The Assassination of Jesse James…, which the Aero just screened this month. That [screening] with Andrew Dominik and Roger Deakins sold out, and this one will, too, I hope.”

With all the Old Testament mojo this film now has going for it, I don’t see how it won’t sell out right away. Let Boucher do the math: Bale is now Ridley’s Moses, Crowe and Logan Lerman reunited for Aronofsky as Noah and Ham, and Ben Foster was.. uh… was the Angel in Ratner’s X-film? Anyway, get your tickets right here as soon as you can!

If you don’t live in the Los Angeles area, console yourselves by discussing your favorite westerns in the comments.
