SAW 8 Reveals Its New Title

The Saw franchise, a.k.a. the Fast and Furious of horror and suspense in terms of longevity and volume, has an eighth movie on the way, so get ready for more will-testing traps and suspenseful gore. Previously, the film was titled Saw: Legacy, but now it’s been revealed it has a new name, one that’s perhaps more telling of what the movie might be about: Jigsaw (via Entertainment Weekly).

In case you’re not a regular viewer, Jigsaw is the nickname of series antagonist John Kramer, played creepily and excellently by Tobin Bell. It wasn’t entirely clear if Bell’s character would be making an appearance in the upcoming movie, which hits theaters on October 27. Kramer actually died back in 2006 in Saw III, but the Saw movies are known for plot-explaining flashbacks, in which Kramer has frequently appeared throughout the series.

With the new title, however, it seems like a Jigsaw appearance is pretty likely, considering it sounds like the movie is very directly based on him. It also helps that back in March, when the movie was still Saw: Legacy, Bell posted a Jigsaw photo on Twitter that suggested his involvement in the film.

Still, the Saw movies are known for their twists and unexpected happenings, so really, who knows what’s going to happen with Jigsaw? If you have any wild fan speculation, now is your time to shine: Go ahead and tell us your theories in the comments below.
