Saturday’s Schedule for SDCC has SIMPSONS, GARGOYLES, BATMAN, and a DAME

If you thought Thursday and Friday at Comic-Con International 2014 was all you were going to yet, then clearly you don’t know how conventions work. There’s, like, a whole weekend or whatever. At any rate, Saturday’s line-up has just been announced and true to form there are some pretty amazing panels pertaining to the worlds of comics, television, movies, and more. Basically it’s just those three, but it’s not exclusive, you understand. Saturday, July 26th… you are a beauty.

As per usual, though, there’s a heap of great Nerdist stuff going on that you will of course want to slap your lookin’ orbs on. At 1:45pm in the Horton Grand Theatre (which is a separate ticketed venue, PS), there’s the Nerdist Podcast Network Super Panel, in which you’ll get to see a cross section of all the great shows we have available for ear-devouring. At 2:00pm in Room 25AB, Nerdist will be moderating the panel “Charting a Course: Developing the Next Mass Effect” with panelists Carl Boulay (lead animator), Fabrice Condominas (producer), Mike Gamble (producer), Noel Lukasewich (senior artist), and Jessica Merizan (community manager).

Then, at 3:00pm in the Indigo Ballroom, we’ve got the big one: The Nerdist Panel! Chris Hardwick and some very-relevant-to-your-interests talent from across the growing Nerdist Empire will engage in lively conversation about the big things to come for Nerdist in the near future. Surprises, big announcements, and, of course, quemments await! Be there!

As for the other big and cool panels on Saturday, huge movies like the much-anticipated Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will be showing their wares. This one features directors Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez and will be in Hall H at 2:50pm.
The big studios have stuff too. The Warner Bros panel, featuring looks at Jupiter Ascending, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armie is at 10:00am (so get there and line up at 3:30), the Legendary Pictures panel is at 12:25pm, and the Marvel Studios panel is at 5:30pm, all in Hall H.

There’s a really interesting smattering of cartoon-related panels on Saturday as well, like The Simpsons panel featuring Matt Groening, Al Jean, Mike Anderson, and David Silverman will be at 10:00am in Ballroom 20; a panel featuring the cast and crew of Nickelodeon’s excellent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show will be at 11:15am in Room 6A, and a 20th anniversary retrospect of Disney’s Gargoyles will be at 5:30 in Room 25ABC. Goliath Lives!

And, just to round it out, two panels that I just think will probably be amazing: a big, enormous 75th Anniversary Batman panel featuring tons of luminaries from all over the brand will be held at 4:00pm in Room 6BCF, and the annual Women Who Kick Ass panel featuring Maisie Williams and Natalie Dormer from Game of Thrones, Tatiana Maslany from Orphan Black, and Katey Sagal from Sons of Anarchy and Futurama will be at 4:10pm in the monster Hall H (but it’ll be replayed later).

So, friends of the Con, that’s your Saturday line-up in the nuttiest of shells. Hope to see everyone at the Nerdist Panel! Come say hello.

Battle of the Five Armie…? I’m picturing two sets of Winklevi, and a Lone Ranger…

Ah, now eventually you do plan on having comic books at your, at your comic con, right?
